As I started to become more at ease, I decided to become more involved in the work that St. Mary's does not just being part of the Sunday Services. I began to appreciate how the running of the Church was reliant upon the ' Church Family 'and all the work that individuals in the Congregation undertake. I was a little reluctant at first, you've all heard the story that once you join a Committee or Group you've got a job for life! Well here I am now, a member of the Finance Group, Deputy Church Warden and a Senior Sidesperson as well as being on the DCC and PCC, so that's not true then!!!
All that I can say is that each day I feel blessed to be helping in the ways that I can and also appreciate how much my Church Family has changed my life and also my outlook of life for the better and caused my Faith to grow and be stronger.
So, its been almost 20 years Peter…. whats your best or most prominent memory of your time with St. Marys?
The way we have all grown together as a Church Family, you see the Parents bring their children for Baptism and then they appear in the Children's Church performing the Nativity at Christmas then next year another activity and the realisation that you and your own family and also your Church Family members have all grown up together caring for each other. Lets hope we will be able to come together in an act of celebration soon.
